Herd Farm is home to three authentic full sized replica Iron Age roundhouses within the rolling rural setting of north Leeds.
The exciting setting is conducive to understanding and appreciating the challenges of prehistoric life and the skills and ingenuity that were required to survive over 2,000 years ago in Britain.
You and your pupils can spend a day in our authentic village setting and find out how our ancestors lived. Pupils and accompanying adults will work in family groups, dressed as Iron Age villagers. Everyone will take part in exciting dynamic activities that reflect day to day life of our ancient ancestor. We’ve worked with experts to create an experience which closely mirrors the world occupied by our forbearers all those years ago.
We offer a number of day sessions for schools in the Iron Age roundhouses, please contact our team for more information and to organise booking your visit.
